LIMITED EDITION -BROWN MOROCCAN POUF
* MADE BY ARTISANS * Est. 1952 in Marrakech
Leather tanning has been a Moroccan industry for more than one thousand years.
One tannery that is still in operation in Marrakech dates back to the 9th century.
In the marketplaces of any Moroccan city, you’ll find shops displaying thousands of babouches (traditional soft slippers), wallets, bags, jackets, and much more.
Another typical example of Moroccan leatherwork is the pouf, a soft, versatile piece of furniture that can be used as an ottoman, an informal stool, or extra seating for parties. It’s densely packed, so it won’t collapse when you sit on it. The hides are dried in sunlight, which can add slight variations that give each piece of leather its own unique character.
